What a difference 13 years makes

My favourite cities list has suffered an upset from a place that wasn't even a contender: dirty foggy dreary London--where I've just spent 12 days (10 sunny) in shiny clean vibrant environments that are a delight to be in. I wasn't even looking for it, but by sheer luck stumbled upon Neal's Yard Dairy (Borough shop). I knew about them from the great cheeses I'd purchased in New York, and once vaguely thought of trying to find them. My haul elicited a mere (incredulous?) "Is that all?" from Canada Border Services.

So, do I need to count the ways here? I don't think I can do it justice. The bottom line is that the Brits, or at least the Londoners, have got their act together, and this is now one of the best places in the world to be. We have secured a flat, offices, partners, and clients--so I'll be back. For more fish&chips at Browns (washed down with Aspall's cider). For more elusive Tiptree Tawny marmalade. Real bread. Wait now I'm starting a list. Haven't got the time.
